1. Who we are and what these terms cover
MEe ("the app", "the service") is operated by UNCOVERED SIA (registration no. 40203748046), Bērzu iela 4-2, Kalnāji, Tīnūžu pagasts, Ogres novads, LV-5015, Latvia ("we", "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the agreement between you and us for your use of the app. By creating an account you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data and is part of this agreement.
MEe is a therapeutic self-help journal: a 90-day guided program with an AI conversational companion (your "inner child"), a diary, drawings, and daily rituals.
2. MEe is not medical care
Please read this section first — it is the most important one.
- MEe is not a medical device. It does not provide medical or psychological advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for a therapist, physician, or any professional care. If you are struggling, please also seek help from a qualified professional.
- The app cannot call emergency services, and no human monitors your entries in real time. Crisis resources shown in the app are informational. If you are in danger, contact your local emergency number.
- The companion's replies are generated by an AI model. They may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or emotionally off-key. We run a safety filter over what the companion says, but we cannot guarantee any particular response, and nothing the companion says is professional advice.
3. Who may use MEe
MEe is for adults, 18 years or older. By registering, you represent that you are at least 18. The app does not collect or verify your age; this is a promise you make to us. If we become aware that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will delete it (see the Privacy Policy, "Age").
4. Your account
You register with an email address and password. Keep your credentials to yourself — you are responsible for activity under your account. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account; deletion permanently removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy and ends this agreement. Active sessions are revoked when the account is deleted.
5. Subscriptions and payment
This section applies from the day paid access launches. Until then the app sells nothing, and beta testers may be given full access free of charge — see the last point.
- What is paid. The first seven program days are free. From day 8 the program continues with MEe Premium, available as a monthly subscription ("Monthly Journey") or a one-time lifetime purchase ("Full Journey"). The price is shown in the app in your store's currency before you confirm; the current list prices are €9.99 per month and €49.99 once. The exact price, including VAT, is shown on the store's purchase page before you confirm.
- Who charges you. Purchases are made through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google is the merchant that takes your payment under its own terms; we never see your card or bank details. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, checks your purchase with the store and tells the app to unlock Premium (see the Privacy Policy, "What we collect" and "International transfers").
- Renewal and cancellation. The monthly subscription (Monthly Journey, €9.99 per month) renews automatically at the same price each month until you cancel. Nothing is charged during the first seven program days and no purchase starts on its own: the store takes the first payment only when you confirm a purchase, which the app offers from day 8. Cancel at any time in your device's subscription settings (App Store → Subscriptions or Google Play → Payments & subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect from the next billing period: it stops the next charge and keeps access until the end of the period already paid. Deleting the app or your MEe account does not cancel a store subscription — cancel it in the store as well.
- Lifetime purchase. Full Journey (€49.99) is a single payment for permanent Premium access on the same store account. It is not a subscription and never renews. It is bought through the store under the same right-of-withdrawal rules as any other digital content.
- Restoring. Reinstalled the app or switched device? Restore previous purchases on the Premium screen re-links your store purchase to your MEe account. Premium follows your MEe account, so it is tied to the account you buy it on.
- Refunds and the right of withdrawal. Your purchase contract — including the EU consumer's 14-day right of withdrawal and its loss when digital content is delivered immediately (Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 16(m)) — is concluded between you and the store: Apple Distribution International Ltd. for App Store purchases in the EEA, or Google. When you buy through the App Store or Google Play, you agree in the store's terms that the content is delivered immediately and acknowledge that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal for that purchase. Refunds are therefore handled by the store under its refund policy (Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com; Google: play.google.com) — contact the store first, and write to us at privacy@mee.is if you need help.
- Price changes. We may change prices for the future. For a running subscription you will be told in advance through the store, and a change never applies without your agreement where the law requires it.
- Beta access. During the beta, testers may be granted full access without payment. Beta access can end when paid access launches; we will tell you in the app first.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the app for anything unlawful;
- attempt to access another person's account or data;
- probe, overload, or abuse the app's AI endpoints or infrastructure;
- reverse-engineer the app, except where the law expressly permits it;
- misrepresent your age or identity when registering.
7. Your content
Everything you write, draw, or upload in MEe is yours. You grant us a limited, revocable licence to store, process, and transmit your content solely to operate the service for you — including sending your text and images to Google Gemini to generate the companion's replies, exactly as disclosed in the Privacy Policy. We do not use your content for advertising, do not sell it, and claim no other rights over it. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where the law requires brief retention (for example backups, described in the Privacy Policy).
8. Our content
The 90-day program, the companion's character and voice, the illustrations, music, card decks, and the app itself belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own self-help journey. This licence does not permit copying or redistributing the program content.
9. How the AI works — what you accept
- The companion's replies are generated live by an AI model (Google Gemini). No two conversations are identical, and we do not guarantee any particular output.
- A safety layer may replace an AI reply with a pre-written supportive message and show crisis resources when your entry suggests you may be at risk. This is described fully in the Privacy Policy ("Crisis safety processing").
- AI features run only with your explicit consent, which you give in the app and can withdraw at any time from Profile → AI & privacy consent. Withdrawing switches the AI features off without deleting anything you created.
10. Availability and changes
We provide MEe on a best-effort basis, without an uptime guarantee. Features may change as the app evolves. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will tell you in the app before they take effect; continuing to use the app after that is acceptance of the new Terms.
11. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body, or health. For ordinary negligence, we are liable only for breach of obligations essential to this agreement, and only up to the damage typically foreseeable for an app of this kind. Mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence remains unaffected and prevails over anything in these Terms. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the mandatory law of your country of residence (including, where applicable, liability for death or personal injury, fraud, or intent).
12. Termination
You can end this agreement at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend or terminate an account for breach of §6, with prior notice where the law requires it. Sections 7, 11 and 13 survive termination.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer rights of your country of residence. If you are a consumer in the EEA, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live.
Disputes about payments, refunds, and purchases are handled by the store you bought from (Apple or Google) — see §5. For disputes about the program, the app, or these Terms, please write to us first at privacy@mee.is; if we cannot reach an agreement, consumers in Latvia may turn to the Consumer Extrajudicial Dispute Resolution Commission (Patērētāju ārpustiesas strīdu risināšanas komisija, at the Consumer Rights Protection Centre — PTAC, Brīvības iela 55, Rīga, LV-1010; ptac.gov.lv), or to the competent court.
